Yoga for Eating Disorder Recovery
Naturally you may wonder if 'exercise' is appropriate for someone with an eating disorder, especially someone who may also have a history of compulsive exercise. We approached these practices gently and with appropriate insight into past triggers & challenges faced so far in recovery. Learning to move in tune with your body, as opposed to against its needs, can be a significantly important step towards full complete recovery
It is important to me that you find the right person to support you therefore please do contact me to find out more and so we can see if this is approach is appropriate for you.

I offer individual yoga sessions for people interested in using this to support eating disorder recovery.

Yoga can support recovery in ways that 'talking therapy' may not. It can help address behaviours and thinking patterns that are driven by the eating disorder by offering an alternative perspective which is then embodied in movement. It can offer a different approach to feelings about the body and the relationship it has with food and exercise.
By working WITH the body we can gradually loosen the hold of the ED by learning how to manage emotions, integrate healthier coping strategies, understand our body signals and help clear overwhelm and compulsive thoughts.

I work both in-person in Gorebridge, Midlothian (EH23 4LD) or online via Zoom.
